Self-Transformation: Opening the Psyche to truths of
Earth and Cosmos. Oil on canvas, 98cm x 68cm |
George Kockott and Diana Graham share the conviction that a radical shift in consciousness, a fundamental change in the way people relate to the natural world, is necessary if we are to deal effectively with the global challenges of climate change, resource depletion and ongoing eco-cide.
"Awakening to Animate Earth" points to our roots deep in the natural world and to the path leading to a symbiotic relationship with Earth.
This collaborative exhibition is in partnership with Rhodes University's Environmental Learning Research Centre's exhibition entitled "Re-imagining Nature-Culture Experiences: An environmental arts and learning" which also includes sunset performances of The Baobab in the adjacent Botanical Gardens and Isondlo Sustainable Foods in the Courtyard during tea and lunch.
The Exhibition is free 9am - 4.45pm, and then at 5pm daily there is an exhibition tour, with a complimentary glass of wine; tickets R40 from the Box Office or at the door.
